We went to have a field trip in Chinatown Heritage Centre to learn more about our central Idea 'The story of humanity is a story of migration'. We've heard some stories about why, who, when, and how the Chinese people migrated to Singapore. We also saw how it looked like inside where people lived and what jobs they had in the past too such as shoemakers, physicians, hawkers, apprentices, tailors... even a honeybucket collector! It was very interesting to see how it looked like because 40 people could live in a tiny row of rooms. It must have been very hard to live during that time. We had a lots of fun and learned a lot. I had a lot of fun at the Chinatown Heritage Centre! I learned a lot about Chinese migrants migranting to Singapore. I also learned that people came to Singapore for spices and the types of festivals the Chinese celebrate. It was really interesting seeing Singapore in the 19th and 20th Century and seeing it now. My favorite part was seeing all the rooms that people would live in. I also loved how Raffaella and I started taking pictures on Mrs. Jasinska's phone! :)

It was such a great trip wasn't it? I especially liked the stories of the people who lived in a time when Singapore that was very different to now. I didn't like the 400000 photos on my phone, however.
